What’s the one thing you make ever Yom Tov / Succos that it just wouldn’t be chag without it?

Any special recipes, desserts, basics or sides?

Would love to hear from others.

We’re still young and forming our traditions now so not much to add.

I love to make a hot dessert like apple crisp or brownies and serve with ice cream. We don't do this on Shabbos so it makes it special.

We love Kraut AKA gefilta kraut or holopzias.

My mother serves it at every meal second days yt. She generally has a roast as well, some of the marrieds spouses can't stomach it.

At my IL house no one eats it. I think I am bring a pan this year!

We also have sheet layered cake desserts that we rarely have any other time. Things like, strawberry shortcake, lemon, three color cake/rainbow cake etc. Yum.

Some of my family's favorites are corned beef, cabbage & noodles, tongue, lo mein, skirt steak salad, asparagus, apple crumble, compote, baked apple. Not fancy but what goes.

"grashetze"!!!! (aka sweetbreads) it costs a pretty penny, but so worth it! I serve it on the side over something starchy like a toasted bun or shlishkes. I'm salivating 😋
