It's funny.
You read some threads, posters claim Imamother is young so you'll have more defending dil.
Imamother skews Chassidishe. Imamother skews poor. Imamother skews oot.
Honestly I think it's everyone's impressions of what threads catch their interest.
Posters will claim imamother tends poor, yet the posts that ask how much people make don't seem that way.
So what do you think Imamother leans?

Its so funny that you ask. I regularly feel like I live on a different planet when I read ima. I live in a large OOT community, been frum for close to half my life at this point and I am turning 40 this year so a significant part of my life. I consider myself very well integrated in my yeshivish community but I frequently read stuff here that has me going I cant relate to this at all. I am really curious how others will answer this question.

I think it’s mostly young and OOT and definitely poor or poor mindset, and definitely more meikel/ or modern
Basically everything I’m not (although I am pretty young, mid 30s)
ETA- I’m also not rich at all, I just don’t have the very poor frugal mindset I see all over the site

Per polls, 90% are in 20s and 30s.
Most are intown, lakewood, brooklyn, Monsey.
Younger people tend to be poorer than older people.

I dont see what you are seeing.
I see young, mostly lakewood, not high earners. Not MO at all. MO has never been the majority here at all.

I agree that MO are a very small percentage because in general MO would have other outlets to use for both socialization and information.
I don't know if by "modern" people mean comparing them to people who don't access the internet at all and so be definition wouldn't be on this site - or any other.

There are some things that were definitely a surprise for me and some things that shocked me aswel.
Surprising are how many many different diverse women are on here and so many women are so well versed in seforim and meforshim.
Its very impressive.
I was quite shocked when reading posts about parent /child relationships.
About not expecting things from a parent.
I do agree with this, but the way its come across her is that parents are entitled to do what they want and children should be uber grateful for the smallest of things...
