Do you have a foolproof chulent recipe specially for a slow cooker (only heat on bottom)?

I started making the one posted on the between carpools website. The parve Chulent recipe- it first bakes in the oven and then I transfer it to the crockpot before shabbos and add meat and kishka. It always comes out good. It’s a little different than what I used to make.

Can you make it straight in the crockpot?

You probably can but there’s something about the way it tastes after baking in the oven for 2-3 hours… it has a better texture I think . It’s worth trying.
