Facebook won't let me have a normal profile pic. It always wants to crop them tiny. But if I do it, all I get is a tiny stupid pic instead of the original beautiful one. Help.

Facebook lets you have a normal sized pic, the cropped thing you are talking about is called a "Thumbnail" which they use on the NewsFeed page and the Friends list.
Question, when you view your profile your pic is full size, correct?
Everyone has to select a thumbnail pic. If you want more of your pic to show in the thumbnail then you have to resize your picture to a smaller resolution and size. This is easy if you have a program like Adobe Photoshop.

If I re use an old profile pic, it stays normal, but it doesn't let me keep new ones normal

Your pic might be beyond limits, so they might automatically be cropping it. You should try to resave it at a smaller resolution and try to upload it again.

AH I know what it is.
Horizontal pics are always resized. I would copy and paste to make it vertical, and your pic will show up bigger. Facebook pages are limited by the size of the left column, which isn't that wide.

Did you try re-arranging your facebook profile page? Dragging and dropping things. I used to purposely make my pics long and narrow so they would be bigger.
