I would like to find a competent cardiologist for my dh, just to do like preventative heart health and that type of thing. any ideas ladies? thanx

I live in brooklyn and my insurance is currently nothing and hopefully soon blue cross blue shield hmo.
thats true greenfire........I dunno, I dont even have a freakin primary care physician and neither does dh. crazy, whatever. I gotta start using one though

jmo, every cardiologist has some sub specialties that they do too. So if you have any specific concerns, then you would need to follow that. For instance, there is Dr. Shimoni that my father uses, he is a specialist in electrophysiology, meaning, how the heart works electrically.

if he's 40, the reg. dr will do the ekg and stuff like that. you don't need a spec. unless you have issues.

he's 24.
very strong genetic tendency towards heart issues, plus he has like a heart murmur-what the heck is that anyhow?, plus he has high blood pressure.

I live in Brooklyn, too and have Empire BCBS HMO Direct ( direct just means that I don't need referrals for specialists) If that's what you have, you can go to Dr. Michael Fuchs, he' s in Boro Park on 49th bet. 12th and 13th. He IS a cardiologist, but he may also be on the Primary Care Physician list, so check, you may not need another PCP, if you do need a referral with your plan.
