I didn't find anything "scary" about it. It was very different from the other novels, with much more of a historical focus. It wasn't a really juicy page-turner like her 1st 3 novels, but was probably more educational.

I liked this one the most.
It didn't have that anti-ultra-orthodox undertone. It was a just a nice story.

We are reading this book for our book club and I love it. I haven't finished reading it, almost done.
My favorite part of the book is when it is revealed that Fransisco is a Yid. I had chills up my spine. I was so hapy for Gracia that she could be with him.
