would help if you gave some details. How long are they married, how old are they, do they have kids and if so how many and how old, where do they live, do they work, do they live in an apt or a house...the more one knows about the recipient the better one can advise about a gift. And how much $ are you talking about?

for example: if they have two children under two and they both work but are not rolling in dough, babysitting the kids so that they can go out together to an adult venue would make sense. OTOH if they have a live-in nanny, obviously that would not make sense. If you have lots of money and they don't, you can buy them the dinner in the romantic restaurant, too.
