Every year, I forget which ones I used...
I tried Ovenproof from Bakers Choice - very thick
There were cheaper ones too that worked well.
Without getting into how it's made, which is better for hamantash - Jelly or Preserves?

Jelly is very thin and usually seeps through. I used smucker's preserves and it came out great!

Jelly is made from fruit juice and sugar, more or less. You need something with actual fruit content in order for it not to run all over the place. So preserves, lekvar, "butter", or pie filling are you best bet.

Preserves or lekvar. Lekvar is not as sweet so I usually mix with a little jelly/jam and honey.
