I am LOVING this.
Although the question does remain: what does Yehuda do when he grows up? Does he find a nice Jewish frum witch to marry? Smile

Or marry a Muggle and melt back into the GG community with occasional cleaning spells to help his wife for Pesach?

Oh, finally, chapter 8! Awesome, though I'm cringing a bit from the Terry tension and wondering what Christian readers may think...

I'm wondering about this to but I doubt eleven year old Yehuda is thinking about it.

This is such a fun read and I have a question.

Why is Snape the one to take Yehuda to the chabad house? Does he have some kind of Jewish background?
Is he actually a Jew?
Did he decide to leave Yiddishkeit for the wizarding world?
Or did he not leave Yiddishkeit and besides for a short OTD stint when he was following Voldemort is actually keeping the taryag mitzvot at Hogwarts?

Love it! Just read all 8 chapters, I'm a huge Harry potter fan and it's interesting reading it from a different perspective. Can't wait to read more!! Thanks for sharing!

I think Snape might have Jewish background. The "half-blood prince" could be a double entendre.

He might've even inherited some of the classic Jewish genes... Dark hair, sallow skin, that unfortunate hook nose...

lol. Chabad houses in the UK are usually staffed by couples where at least one of them is British born. Not all chabadniks are american.

What will the mirror of erised reveal to Yehuda about himself?

Will the oppression of Umbrage etc crack down on religious observance, too?

I looked up the character and it seems he is a halfblood... so which is the magical parent?

Methinks in a Chabad sukkah, they would be much more likely to sing "v'somachto" than "Kah ribon olam."

But I nitpick.

There is a lot of talent here, and I am enjoying it immensely.

I noticed that, too. I didn't know kah ribon is sung yomtov.

mmm... Intresting. At first I thought it wouldn't work but after further contemplating it I think it can pretty easily become a sukkah. All it needs is to open a roof to the sky and provide schach and wooden beams to put the schach on.

Maybe it can't become Yehuda's sukkah because it's busy being Snape's sukkah Twisted Evil

I don't know when kah ribon is sung but we often sing songs from our guests nusach to make them feel comfortable.

Just read through all 8 chapters. So much for getting a jump start on Shabbos cooking.

I had the same question when I started reading, but I think the story is so amazing I wouldn't even mind if this remains a plot hole.
