I have someone coming for Shabbos who is diabetic. I need a good dessert recipe that is sugar free or that tastes good when you use Splenda..I've tried Splenda instead of sugar in a cake and it was gross!

You should go to Splenda.com. They have tons of recipes that call for splenda.

Serve fruit for dessert.

I called Splend's 800 number and they sent me a free cookbook. I know that won't help you for this shabbos, but perhaps in the future. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, so I don't know if they are good.

There are 2 types of Splenda, the one to put in coffee & there's Splenda for baking specifically. I've used it & haven't noticed a difference.

it doesn't always bake well; heat sometimes spoils it. Use what you've heard works!

p.s. diabetics cannot eat the sugars from fruit either

I once made a cheesecake and also a pumpkin pie with splenda (no crusts) both for someone who couldn't have sugar/carbs - followed recipe and came out perfectly fine. just use the same amount of splenda instead of the sugar.

Can someone please give me this 800 number or tell me where to find it. I would really like to get this cookbook since a family member is diabetic.

Thanks in advance!!

My favorite is baked apples. I take the apples and make a mixture of oil, vanilla, cinnamon and splenda and pour over the apple sin a glass dish, bake for about 10 minutes in the microwave. Yum!
