I am looking for a new kosher cookbook. Does anyone have a favorite cookbook or one that you recommend highly?
Thanks!

I agree - I like the spice and spirit cookbook. Has a lot of recipes I use on a regular basis. Though I will say, some of the recipes call for too much salt, I just adjust and add less

To me that doesn't make sense. Even when one knows how to do something, well or not, it's good to have something to guide us. And if you don't know how to cook, you can follow directions in a cookbook and come out with a finished product.

Really?? I like to get ideas from cookbooks... I can't think of everything on my own.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

That's great if your husband does all of the cooking, and is naturally talented as a chef.

Even the top chefs in the world are always looking for inspiration from outside sources. For many people, that's what a cook book is.
To answer OP, it depends on what you would like a cook book for. To teach you the basics of cooking? To provide a certain genre of recipes and if so, which? To inspire you with unique ideas or photography?

Would he trust a contractor that didn't use a blueprint? Because hey, either you know how to build or you don't?

I have the basics down, just looking for a good cookbook that has a mix of traditional and new/interesting recipes.

My husband doesn't either. That's why he doesn't use a cookbook when he cooks
He doesn't mind if I do use cookbooks....
I'll agree that Spice and Spirit is my favorate one.

In that case, I love kosher by design.

As a matter of fact he is
Whenever he uses a book it comes out horrible
When does it seat of your pants, it comes out superb

Someone who's a good cook also would not have a problem using a cookbook...

My husband is a chef, and he's always looking at recipes--and then modifies them to make them even better. Right now he's working his way through Sefardi recipes. And our friends and I get to enjoy the outcomes.
