About 1 1/2-2 years ago, I wrote a thread (that I can't find) asking people their thoughts about giving tzedaka, as dh's grandmother was niftar and he wanted to give a large portion of the inheritance to tzedaka.

He wanted to give $25,000 to tzedaka and we were trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Do we give it all to one place, or do we spread it around. Well, after all is said and done, we ended up giving it to our Rav to anonymously give it to a couple in our community who had been trying for many years for children to help with the costs of IVF, etc (we were also having trouble conceiving and had talked to the couple about it as we were further down the road than them).

Anyway, a month or two after we donated the money - I got pregnant and had a boy B"H - He is now 14 months and they had their first baby today - A BOY!!!!

I REALLY like this thread. I thought it would be some segula thingy that you did for your friend and now she had a baby all because of your segula.
I was delighted to see someone who actually did something REAL and PRACTICAL to help a friend. Really special.

I understand that not many are in the position to help out IF couples in this way, and the most we can do is daven which is great. But when people are in the position to help it is so heartwarming to see that there are clued in people left in the world who realize that what IF couples need is money.

I am so proud of this thread.
