I imagine this is typical; they didn't call me for a telephone recertification interview, I even called about a week or two later to re-schedule (even though there was no indication that I needed to), they never confirmed the second interview, I received a later that the case was going to be closed, tried to call/get some help from their office but the case was closed.
I can either re-apply or file for a fair hearing. Has anyone done the fair hearing? What is it like? How long does it take? Is it worth it?

Youre probably better off going to one of those people that deals with this stuff and paying them to take care of it for you. Theres a guy in CH that does it if thats where your located. Or I've heard people go to the Williamsburg CC and theyre really good at taking care of it.

I did it! Went great! I was issued food stamps, and then a few months alter just didn't show up so I did a fair hearing and they confirmed after trial that I am eligible and they stopped payments for no reason. they reimbursed me my 6 months (takes a few months) of food stampts!
Just make sure you keep the documents and proof that your meant to get it ect.
