here is an apple cranberry kugel with oil only:
(so good that I gave it its own thread)
3 baking apples, peeled and sliced
1 can jellied (or whole) cranberries.
MIxture:
1 C. oatmeal
2/3 C. brown sugar
a bit less than 1 C. of flour
1/3 C. oil ( I usually only put 1/4 C.)
1 tsp. cinammon
PUt 2/3 of mixture at bottom of greased pan
place apples, then cranberry
put 1/3 mixture on top
bake 350 for 1 - 1.5 hrs.

This looks like the recipe I use w/ margarine. Next time, I'm gonna substitute it with oil-glad to know it will work!

thanks simple1 but I made that recipe once and we didnt like it. It was very tangy and the pan was very heavy so I had to double pan it. Of course I only realized this after it spilled everywhere. And the topping all mixed in so it didnt look at all like the picture. It looked like cranberry mush.
Maybe I should try it again using half the cranberries and double the topping?
chocolate moose, Does this recipe use whole cranberries or cranberry sauce?

this is very good when you mix the apples, 1/2 can whole berry cranberry sauce, and 1/2 can crushed pinneapples.
you can also leave out the apples if you're short on time.
I make it almost every week!!

I used a smaller pan and it came out good - maybe depends if you want it higher or flatter.
