Easy Split Pea Soup
1 cup green split peas
1 cup yellow split peas
1 medium onion, diced
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 carrot, diced (I like to use a couple more carrots)
1 Tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
6 cups water
Combine all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil. Let simmer, on low flame for 1 1/2 hours. If you reheat this soup, you may need to add some water because it gets very thick once it cools off.

I do similar to greeneyes for my easy split pea recipe. And I also use more carrots than that.
But I use 1 bag of split peas instead of half and half of the two colors.
And I add 1/2 a head of garlic (6 cloves crushed garlic).
(I might also use 8 cups of water instead of 6?)
