dh bought home a chuck eye roast and I have never made this befor. I need a good recipe please, if anyone has one. also what sauce can I put on it?

Chuck roast tends to be a tough cut, so you want to braise it. In order to keep my oven and range free, I often sear it on all sides, season with salt, pepper and paprika, cover with onions, then cook it on low in a crockpot filled halfway up the meat with beef and onion broth. After cooking, I boil and thicken the broth for gravy.

just made 1 for yom tov. looks yum.
make it the way u would most pot roast.
I saute many onions - 1 bag
add big squeeze ketchup
jar of apricot jam
tbsp soup mix
put in pan or crock pot - I used my crockpot so I could still run errands
pour 1 bottle semi sweet red wine - I used rashi claret
cook aprox. 45 min per lb. - not more than 4 hrs.
cool overnight
remove strings
slice thin
for gravy
make a roux
strain juice into pan reduce to thick.
or if too runny add 1 tbs corn starch dissolved in water.
