A friend and I were talking off line about kids and being home sick and how housebound one begins to feel. I sent her a link to the toymakerToymaker where one can print out some very cute stuff for the little ones. Paper dolls, "puppet theaters" etc. And I thought I would start a list of places to print or instructions for homemade fun.

Here's another one I found.

Here's a great playdough recipe!

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 Tbs cooking oil
1 cup water
Food coloring
Mix dry ingredients in saucepan. add oil, water and food coloring. cook 3 minutes until mixture pulls away from pan. remove from pan and knead. store in airtight container.
Do not double recipe.

The kids make puppets and you make the theater. Use a tension rod and put fabric on it. It's better if you make casing first, but you don't have to, you could use safety pins. Put the rod between a doorway.

We have all play instraments. We took cups or paper bowls and plates colored, painted, whatever to them, and then put the two together, stuck beans inside, then stapled/glued it so that the beans shouldnt come out. They love them. You can make a variety of music toys that way.
