I made it for Rosh Hashana. REALLY easy...2 loaves of white fish rolls, 1 salmon roll, defrost all 3, spray a deep, long loaf tin w/PAM (I swear by PAM for everything!) Mix 1 lwhite loaf with A LOT of dried dill so you end up with a pink, white, & green mix. Layer them in the tin & cover with Reynold's non-stick foil, bake for about 3 hours. It takes a long time to cook through. Slice thin slices & arrange as you like, with garnish. It tastes good & looks very nice!

Thanks! sounds delicious. I have some frozen spinach in my freezer, so I might try using that. Do you think that will taste ok?

Well, it will certainly give a nice green color, but the high water content will probably affect the consistency of the fish. Plus the dill gives a nice taste! So I wouldn't use it, but someone may have had success with frozen spinach.

Three Layered Gefilte Fish
Fish Mixture:
1 loaf of gefilte fish, defrosted
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder onion powder, pepper to taste
300 g. frozen spinach, defrosted (well drained OR use 2 cooked mashed zucchinis peel on, well drained)
3 carrots, cooked & mashed
Mix the fish with the rest of the ingredients. Put 1/2 of the mixture into a greased loaf pan. Divide the remaining mixture in half. Mix one part with the spinach and the rest with the carrots. Spread the spinach mixture on top of the fish layer in the loaf pan. Spread the carrot mixture on top. Bake at 350° for one hour.
