Ner Naftali is a newer high school - supposed to be like Ner Yisrael.

JPF elementary - arie crown - has a mix in parent body.

Modern elementary - like you would send to coed sleep away camp, girls wear pants, don’t cover your hair, then Hillel Torah

For high school - Ida crown, Hannah sacks, and fyhs would all fit potentially, depending on the child and needs

What distinguishes Hannah sacks from the other Bais Yaakov in Chicago?

Bais yaakov high school most girls are coming from the bais yaakov elementary and the families have those hashkafos. Middle of road bais yaakov and the yeshivish send there. Girls are not allowed smartphones, cover legs outside of school - that type. Girls are going to the BY sems

Hannah Sacks is “officially” a bais yaakov, but most of the parent body is not. If a family is JPF and doesn’t want coed (ida crown) they will send there. Most girls are coming from Arie Crown and just a few from the bais yaakov elementary. Girls have smartphones and less sheltered (school is starting a new initiative for incoming students for no apps and limits) most Girls don’t cover legs outside of school. Their annual play is a kosher version of a normal musical for reference - very professional! Not all girls will go to BY sem - more michlala/darchei bina, some to meor.

I agree with scarlet but I do think BYHS has a much broader range of "yeshivish" then it used to for good and bad. A lot of parents want the positive peer pressure of no phones/social media and Mrs Mannes is beloved so it attracts a broader range of types then it used to. I also know a bunch of arie crowners who I would have assumed wanted to to continue single gender education but sent to Ida Crown.

Are you planning to visit? I would really see the schools for myself and talk to the principals. There is a lot of nuance and grey area.
