I don’t think there are any fresh raspberries with a proper hechsher

The raspberries are kosher, its the bugs that hide inside them that are not.
Due to the structure of the raspberry, it's basically impossible to check them properly, especially on a large enough scale to sell. It is possible for someone who knows what they are doing to check raspberries properly, but a large proportion would end up in the garbage, as if they are infested it's impossible to clean.

They're a bush which needs to grow for at least two years, with deep roots and woody stems, so not really suitable for hydroponics.

Depending on what you need it for. AYLOR but the psak I was given was that if it is puréed like in a smoothie then it is ok. I’ve also found freeze dried ones from Trader Joe’s with a hechsher. Whole fresh/frozen raspberries are almost impossible to clean fully from bugs so don’t think so

Your blending psak was for strawberries or raspberries?
Because I think they're different

Call the hashgacha and ask if those freeze dried ones are bug free. I will be seriously shocked if they are.

Raspberries. But it’s for the same reason. I’ve also been told that I don’t need to check mint leaves if I am blending them. I was told that I should wash them and if I see an obvious bug I should remove it but I don’t need to check them the way you would need to using a thrip cloth if you wanted them whole

Waxed Fruits and Vegetables
Why does the OU give a hechsher to fresh fruits and vegetables?
Many fruits and vegetables are coated with wax to protect these items and make them appear more appealing. It is possible (though not necessarily the case), that some components of the wax come from non-kosher sources. Nonetheless, in the opinion of the OU Poskim, waxed coatings are inedible and do not pose a kashrus concern. Nonetheless, the OU certifies some raw fresh fruits and vegetables. The OU symbol on these items indicates that the waxes, if used, are fully kosher. The OU on fruits and vegetables provides a service to the kosher consumer who prefers to avoid consuming waxes that are uncertified. This certification does not guarantee that the fruits and vegetables are free of infestation.

These are for fresh, right? Not the freeze dried ones

They weren’t for frozen, it was for freeze dried like a crunchy snack. But I’ll try and find out what it meant.

Why would they get a hechsher then if they weren't bug free? How do they presume ppl will eat them?

Same. It means its kosher. No added treif ingredients, not dried in treif keilim, etc.
I bought dried fruits with badatz hechser on it. And under the symbol is says in hebrew - should be checked for bugs.

I’ve always planned to call them asking exactly this. A hechsher doesn’t at all necessarily mean bug free but if there’s no way to check it literally then how can they give a hechsher?

Not sure, it is confusing but with frozen strawberry or other buggy fruits you need specifically a hashgacha for bug free

I think the freeze drying process disintegrates the bugs, but check with the kashrus agency what they say.
