An elderly relative of mine received a concerning email - how much do we have to worry about it?

From what I could find online it's sometimes called a hacked "Hello pervert" Email - basically it seems to be sent from and to their email address, and claims to have information that they are doing (to put in nicely) not tznius things, and if they don't send money now they will spread the info the all their nearest and dearest. If this was sent to a teenager I could see wondering what exactly was going on, but an elderly Bubby? Not so much ;-)

So - what next? Ignore, delete, mark as spam, report to someone? Change passwords? Something else entirely?

Thanks!

A few threads on this recently.
Mark as spam. Make sure to not download anything from it.

Total scam. Ignore.

It is useful to tape over any computer's camera when it is not in use. They can indeed be hacked.

However this is nonsense. Delete, ignore.

This is a scam.

For some background, there was a significant hack on American data a few months ago, which allowed malicious individuals access to personal information, linking your name, home address, cell phone number, and email address.

Now, some people in Nigeria are trying to exploit this for financial gain. It’s best to just ignore it; there’s really nothing to it.
