I did one! I bought one for my friend since she is very into this stuff and got a free one with it, which the company said I could keep.

I connected with some distant relatives and found out some surprising info about a relative but nothing super shocking or that affected me strongly.

Turns out I’m part African (Morocco). And my ancestors were in Spain at some point so I guess we went through the inquisition or left because of it.

I did one a few years ago.

No surprises as I am 100% Askemazi although it was mildly interesting that my parents ancestry indicated they were from slightly different areas of Eastern Europe. Not a surprise since they met in America and my grandparents were from different countries. 🤷‍♀️

I did know intellectually about how small the gene pool is for Ashkenazi but I was still amazed by the number of third, fourth and fifth cousins I have. But I don’t have any actual knowledge of them.

I did it through ancestry.com and it has done questionnaires in various traits and it is interesting to see how my genetics aff3cts stuff I hadn’t tj Ught abut beyond the obvious like how cilantro tastes 🤷‍♀️

I’m not doing it. They give dna results to the government. It’s one way cold cases are solved. I dont need my dna going places.

I wouldn’t. I don’t need concrete proof of my Jewish ancestry. I guess that’s my trauma from hearing about the holocaust.

Here's a theoretical scenario. I didn't say it happened but let's entertain the thought.

Let's say, using for example all the Ashkenazi data, we can isolate a specific DNA strain. This isn't crazy- we already have brca 1 and the "kohen gene".

Then let's say there's some kind of mass meditation forced upon the general population. It gets sent out in lots to various locations. Let's say the shipment sent to Brooklyn and lakewood contains a different formula than the one sent to southern Georgia. And let's say each shipment actually contains different formulas that are targeted to the population.

This is an example of giving the government too much information. Information is power. I'm not a criminal but I'm entitled to my own business.
