I daven in English. Okay you can all throw tomatoes at me now. I just feel more connected this way bc that’s the language we speak and I feel closer this way. HaShem listens matter what language we speak to Him in. He wants a relationship with us.

I shared water with my baby, giving him from my cup first. I thought he was done and was going to pass the cup back to me so I started my Bracha. He decided he wasn't finished so I was mid Bracha realizing I have another minute to go. Bottom line my son provided me the space to say the Bracha slowly, much much slower than I typically do. I was like oh that's what that means.

I make the coffee shehakol meditation Bracha every day but this was really different because I was also thinking about the beginning of the Bracha.

Long story short, I'm thinking of taking time to make at least one Bracha everyday. Though I haven't committed yet.

No tomatoes from me.
I agree with you; I do daven in Hebrew but if I allowed myself to use English too I would possibly add more to my davening.

Take a few minutes each day and wmake a brachos journal of what each bracha means ro you - first each of the 6 words until העולם,then the rest of the brachas. Not just the literal meaning. For example, with mezonos, you might think of how Hashem lets so many things be made , even out of almost the same ingredients or about all of the things that were needed to produce the food, etc.

I have this Flashcard in my handbag:
"Only by saying the berachot with the right kavono, can one anull these kelipos, one will then purify one's body and clean one's thoughts. AriZal"
While travelling I take out these Flashcards, read it....it's very hard, I wish I could remember...

It's not a Bracha levatala if it's not in your hand, though it's definitely halacha to hold it.

When I was becoming chozer beteshuva I used the aish recordings of the morning brachos which gave me a lot of chizuk and feeling. I made a commitment to keep just the morning brachos as a baseline as opposed to longer davening. I imagine Hashem listening in front of me and how lucky it is I can say them, how lucky I am to be alive, focus on gratitude. Remember, davening is one part acknowledging the greatness of Hashem, bakasha (to ask for something), and a thanks(gratitude)
Some days it’s still not easy especially if I’m busy that morning but I always think to myself about how lo lishma will lead to lishma eventually. Every so often I just say “Hashem please help me” when I’m doing stuff and have moments of being alone and talking. I think those moments have some of the best connection and surprisingly has no brachos. I think also just trying to feel Hashem in everything without saying anything helps a lot. You can do this when in nature as well.

Regarding saying brachos this meditation was really transformational for me : https://www.youtube.com/watch?.....t=2s.

It took me a bit of practice but it really becomes an immersive experience of gratitude and prayer.

I started trying to say asher yatzar standing still. Once you aren't walking or doing something, you have a moment to reflect on thanking Hashem that your body is working properly. I really am trying to work on that. After that, maybe I'll pick a different bracha to work on.
