Hi, we will be visiting California for about a week. We are staying over shabbos, so I am looking for a hotel within walking distance of a warm shul. I would also like to know where we could get shabbos food.
And if anyone has any suggestions for attractions to visit with my children, ages 18 months - 8 years old.
Thank you!

Lol, like CA only includes LA and San Diego. There are more frum communities than just that.
And LA is huge. LA Brea, Pico, Beverly Hills... then there is the entire valley: Tarzana, Sherman Oaks... then Calabasas (the yeshiva but not much of a community), plus Chabad in Agoura Hills, Chabad near Marina Del Ray, Venice community...

OK, yeah, you get my drift. Just cranky when people think there are only 3 shuls and 1 school. The greater LA area is huge!

I would Google 90036 (La Brea) and 90035 (main area of pico) hotels. Call tomorrow and See which have keys and don't have electric/sensor doors. Unfortunately most do. A lot of people rent air bnbs because of this.

There is a motel on 3rd and Martel. I don't think it is electric - Park Plaza Hotel. That would be LA Brea. Not quite center of things but walkable to shuls. YIHP is 3rd and LA Brea (about 4 blocks) as well as the one next door I think Beis Naftali? Which both are across from the Ralph's with kosher takeout. Lots of restaurants in that area and Pico too.

If I would rent an air bnb how do I know it’s within walking distance of a shul? They don’t give you the address until you book it.

Certain areas will be close enough to a shul. It won't likely be on your block but in Los Angeles shuls often have to be on commercial streets (Beverly Blvd, LA Brea, Pico, Robertson...). So we walk a few blocks.

So share the link of the air bnb and we can tell you what is in the area.
