Because I wear black for as long as possible
sheer tights tear easier and they are also not as comfortable

This can’t be the first time you are hearing people refer to the color of the stockings as nude. It literally says it on the box/package.

In context which is super obvious in this post it means the color of tights. It doesn’t mean naked. Anyone thinking that likely doesn’t really know English. Since many words have multiple meanings using context clues to understand the meaning is part of basic English.

I wear black hosiery year round because then I don't have to bother shaving unless I want to. Yes, even in August. So sue me.

So why not other opaque colors?

Oh relax. She was making an observation. It is odd to see people dressing wintery when it’s summer weather outside, and I’ve lived in other communities and it’s more prevalent in Lakewood to stay in black tights/winter clothes for longer then in other places. No one is putting them in cheirem we’re just wondering why ppl don’t dress weather appropriate.

There’s a difference between wondering, and outright telling people what to do which is beyond unreasonable.

. Because most retailers carry black. Anything else is hard to find, otherwise we'd be happily wearing hot pink or purple.
