I would like to write my life as a DIL (pickle)
Yes - you heard me right!
I’m sour, not sweet.
Not a thing will change me!
In the position I’m meant to be in.
Yet flavorful, savory!
May as well appreciate me.
I may not always agree,
I’ll smile and please,
So please - don’t hurt me!
I promise to be great to your son.
But I’m just a DIL. (Pickle)

A dil just wants to be accepted
The way im treated is unexpected
The differences between us
are great, it's true
but I have feelings just like you
They can be viewed as positive if you choose
My family love me, is that news?
You call my passion
She's so uptight
Whatever I do
You don't think is right
My innate softness you see as weak
You all make fun whenever I speak
When I force myself to pay a visit
All I hear is I'm too 'with it"
I try to be a good wife to your son
Although he's not an easy one!
I feel cheated with the facts you hid
It was really wrong that you did
I suffer as a result every day
And yet I put up with it and stay
You try to blame me when there's strife
This adds so much pain to my painfilled life
There are times you gift us with money
It's all used for therapy it isn't funny
Please try and think before you speak
The yenta you tell everyone does leak
It causes me to need to stay away
I wish I could be more open and say
I'm a person just trying my best each day
