My Connection - Free Verse

My connection to Hashem is multifold;
It started in this existence the day I was born.
A presence sensing me,
Directing, inside my inner world.
Sometimes it’s when I’m sad and cry,
I feel it there the most sometimes.
Sometimes when in joy, other times when I’m annoyed.
I knew it well, by being alone.
By being different than others, it gave me a home.
In my darkest nightmares, nights filled with pain,
This connection had saved my grace.
And I know it so well and that it is true,
So pure and untainted, unlike most things. Unlike most interactions; even the best have its flaws.
But this connection is untainted; even when I’m far - it’s still there.
Constant.
And for that I write this memo of appreciation, recognition, gratitude.
Thank you for this Presence, this healing.
Without You, I’m not me, and my world is incomplete.
