DH and I have to make a quick trip to Monsey today (probably). Are there any new kid-friendly places we should try out while we are there?

Try the Purple Pear - don't know how new it is but it is nice and kid friendly - it is like a frum diner, just be prepared for long lines if you go right around lunch time.

actually went there once for our anniversary and had a horrible experience. no silverware, wrong food, long wait, etc. Plus, they seem overpriced

shelli's are more like a pizzeria type of place, but I know shelli's too also has fishes and sushi. I don't knwo if they have anything to do with the one in teaneck.
I was never in avenue R, but I hear ppl really like it. a typical lunch place, salads, tuna eggs, etc.

ok..know where 59 is, and know where wesley kosher is. Is it in the same shopping center or further down? I didnt think there was anything further down. DH may know hatzlacha grocery, but I dont. We usually go to Welsey kosher or the big one.

There's a new Shwarma place in the Atrium Plaza.
If I were you I would give The Purple Pear another shot. I think that's the best place Monsey has. I have found the food really great, fresh, and presented nicely. Lunch time they do not offer waiter service, dinnertime they do.
Enjoy!

I never had a bad experience in Purple Pear, on the contrary, I once ordered something and it took forever and the woman came to my table with it and said the first one was a bit burnt so we made it again sorry for the delay!!
