Ds is 4 and has special needs. He was non verbal until last year, so his speech is not exactly on age level. We had this conversation today:
ds: I want go Bubbe's house.
me: No, you can't go because you have a cold and Uncle Chaim Dovid can't be near people who have a cold.
ds: No, I hot!
me: But you have a cold. That means you have a runny nose, so you can't go.
ds: (wiping his nose) I wipe my nose. Now I go Bubbe's house.
me: No, as long as your nose keeps running, you can't go.
ds: (Touching his nose) My nose clean! I go Bubbe's house!
He didn't quite get the idea.
