2 cabbages
Meat mixture
1 1/2 lbs ground meat
1 large onion, minced
1 cup raw rice
1 1/2 T sugar
2 eggs
salt optional
Broth
1 large onion, diced
1 large apple, peeled
2 meat bones
1/4 cup raisins
water to cover rolls
Sauce
4 T sugar
1 1/2 lemons squeezed
salt optional
3 med cans tomato sauce
Prepare meat mixture and set aisde. Place cabbage one at a time in boiling water to easily separate leaves. Fill each leaf with spoonful with meat mixture.
Place in 8 qt pot. Add broth ingredients and cook, covered, on small flame for one - 1 1/2 hours. Add sauce and cook another hour.
Make 2 - 2 1/2 dozen.
