It's sickening how once again the little leftist government sacrifices Jewish sodiers and citizens' security for political expediency and "mah yomru habriyos".

They have the nerve to claim that they are under US pressure, when in reality the US didn't interfere with their efforts at all. In fact Bush gave them a clear go-ahead for weeks saying "Israel has the right to defend itself".

That could always change very quickly.

The US is the only government that did not pressure Israel. Many Israeli citizens are dissatisfied with the plans of a premature cease fire.

Yea, the one thing about this war, is its nice to see Israel stand so united. That hasn't happened for many years.

In 1982, during the War for Shalom HaGalill, President Ronald Raegan made himself scarce by going overseas to Bonn,Germany on a diplomatic visit. Although we all know that presidents and heads of state have instant communication accessibility at all times, it served as a cover for Israel to just go ahead and do what it had to do, with no interference from the US.

the US doesn't want to hurt any interests by angering Arab countries with which it has dealings , so it can't say it officially, but it bent over backwards then and also now, to give Israel the clearest hint that it should do what it has to do. The U.S. WANTS Israel to do that, and eliminate the terrorist threat, because if they don't the US has to deal with them too!

At that time, when Israel stagnated there in Lebanon, and didn't conclude the war, and a multi-national force was installed for "peacekeeping", a truck bomb drove into the US military HQ barracks stationed there, and detonated killing 300 American soldiers. The U.S. does not want this!

Now too, we face increased terrorist threat worldwide and here in America, may Hashem have mercy, because the Islamic terrorist movements have been strengthened by our unresolve. Israel is doing no one a fovor by not finishing the job.
