Put the entire bucket, with the soaked water and tzitzis in the machine on a hand wash/wool cycle cold.no added detergent.
Works wonders!
My husband gets compliments all the time!
Note, make sure the iron out is fully dissolved before putting in the tzitzis, because if not it can fade the black!
Good Luck |
I tried this recipe today. Tzitzis came out beautiful but the black fladed tons! So upset. And I made sure dissolve the iron out completely. What did I do wrong?

I’m so sorry to hear!
The only time I had such an issue was if it was washed too often already!
I’m sorry it happened to you!

*The water cannot be too warm, rather dissolve the iron out in warm, but don't put the tzitzis until water is cool.
*Do not leave longer than 25 min.
*Do not use too much Iron Out. A little bit goes a long way.
I personally found Superio and White Brite to work as well. Zitz powder too, but very expensive.
But these tips are crucial. I ruined too many before speaking to my expert tzitzis friend (with seven bochurim)
