Im so so sorry.
I can relate a tiny little bit

When I was newly married living in Israel, I did not realise my husband was gambling.
We literally had no money .
We got letters from utility companies.
He took our silver candlesticks to pawn that we were gifted from someone.
Turns out they were worthless and we literally had nothing.
I think he borrowed.

Eventually there was a time he came to me and said would I give up my diamond ring because we needed the money.
I was young and naive
Ive never been into diamonds and stuff and he swapped it for a fake.
Imo it looked nicer and I remember people commenting.
After that I just stopped wearing it.
I couldnt take it.
Eventually after he had stopped the gambling I told him I want a real one.
He took his time about it and somehow the "fake" ring got lost in between him and the jewellers.

2 years ago I got a new real one with a new setting.
It doesnt repair what went wrong though.
No one would understand how much this affected me.
Iv also come to appreciate real real jewellary and diamonds now.
Even if theyr minimal.

Sorry for rambling , reading your post brought up all these memories for me.
I remember a family member offered to buy me a ring because they noticed I didnt have one.
I was mortified.

I dont wear any rings. I have a shaitel that's more than enough sensory overload.

I do love my wedding ring and I wear it (socially) with a diamond band. Not eternity. Very thin stacking band style with tiny chips.

My wedding band from the chuppah, I sold to the jeweler years ago, with great relief because I had wanted yellow gold and my mother insisted it be white and I was happy to get rid of it. Zero sentimental value. (And very little monetary lol)

Wow, that's tough.

I sold my diamond (from my engagement ring) to pay for therapy. We had already maxed out our credit cards and asked many organizations for help with payment for therapy. The jeweler put in CZ to replace the diamond and I've only told 2 ppl (plus my husband) in real life. Thank God we are doing much better but not good enough to buy a new diamond. I look forward to the day that I'll be able to.

Just my wedding band on my right hand, my engagement ring stone sometimes scratches my baby so I stopped wearing it.

Indigent just means poor, presumably anyone who was desperate enough with no alternate ways to come up with money to pay their utilities would qualify as indigent.

I’m so sorry you went through that and hope things are better for you now.

Laser cut gold ring on my pointer finger and that’s it. I ordered a wedding ring with a lab diamond in platinum that I plan to wear when out. My gold ring is *usually* on when I go out, I love taking it off and feeling the relief of nothing on my fingers. Also sensory, to that and to any headwear.
