Having Europe, other Asia, in town all as equivalent categories is kinda narrow minded IMHO.
OTOH it is totally absurd to list every single frum UK community the same way it would be absurd to list every single frum US community. The above poll seems way more balanced. |
It does make sense, look at the ratio.

Manchester

Hendon
Edgeware

Borhamwood
Westcliff
Canvey Island
Leeds
Did I miss any?
Please don`t lump us together with Europe. We are not part of the EU (European Union) anymore! Next poll, please do England |
Excuse me but did you know that there is more than one Jewish community in Manchester?
Why is London divided into 6 categories, and Manchester lumped into one?!
And what about Bournmouth, Birmingham, Cardiff and Dublin?

Well, considering the prices in our current communities, we may just have to branch out there.
Of course though, as soon as anyone moves out there, the prices of igloos will start soaring..
Too cold for me, personally. I need a different plan.

I've been out of the UK too long. I'd never be able to do that without leaving out some neighbourhoods or communities.

OP almost all of these polls end up making one group or another mad, don’t worry it’s not on you.
I grew up in town and still live in town so I can’t relate to the intense feeling people seem to have about not seeing their community represented but it seems like a huge trigger for a lot of people.

You do know Dublin is not in the UK? It is however part of the EU.
Belfast is in the UK, but you didn't mention it.
Some of those places are really tiny frum communities, basically the rabbanim and chabad shluchim and maybe a handful of shomer shabbos people.

I live "in town" - in my own town. When I leave, I go out of town, regardless of whether I'm going to NY or somewhere else.

I live in the tri-state area now but grew up somewhere I can almost guarantee no one on here has heard of (except the one person I know in real life) so I always feel funny answering as an "in towner" since I so don't feel like one. |
I’d love to know where you grew up!

Thornhill (a suburb just north of Toronto), Ontario, Canada; originally from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. With loads of relatives in New York, USA. Huge Jewish communities in all of the above. It's surprising to me that Canada, just north of the USA, didn't even rate a proper mention in this survey.

Zanesville is the correct spelling. I've heard of it and actually stayed there once
