This was great. Gotta give it to the sons! They’ll love it.

I’m impressed. That was pretty quick. It usually takes people a while to figure that one out.

I knew it must be a play on words. The third clue gave it away. Like I said it can’t be נח so no actual parsha gonna work with that clue.

This one is my kids' favorite:

A king is supposed to be traveling the next day on a long journey by boat. Grand plans were made for the affair: Sufficient food was prepared and packed up, the whole entourage was outfitted properly for the trip, and the king went to sleep early to ensure a good night's rest. The next morning bright and early at sunrise the king awakens ready and looking forward to his exciting adventure. Heavy last minute arrangements keep the palace abuzz. Amid all the hullabaloo, a lone figure approaches, requesting an urgent meeting with the king: It's the night watchman. The king allows him to enter and asks him why he's here, so he starts off by apologizing if he's out of place for speaking his mind, but he's very concerned for the safety of the king. He'd had a dream the night before that the boat the king would shortly be going on sank at sea and that the king drowned. He highly suggests the king does not go on the planned journey. The king becomes agitated and nervous about the upcoming voyage. After mulling it over, he concludes not to embark on the journey. Later the next day, word comes to the palace that the very ship the king should have been on went under, and there were no survivors. With much gratitude, the king summons his night watchman and hands him a huge treasure chest of gold and jewels as appreciation for saving his life, but he tells him, "You're fired!" Why?

First I thought because he should’ve saved all the others too. But meh, didn’t like it.
The answer must be if he’s a night watchman he shouldn’t be sleeping and dreaming. Laugh

See? What you say here illustrates the tragedy of prevention.

If he had kept the whole ship from going everybody would have survived. but the ship would not have sunken.... So no-one could have said whether the watchman's prediction was right or not... no glory for the watchman....

Same thing for Corona prevention: if it had been prevented efficiently, there would be no deaths, and everyone would have said it is harmless, more harmless than a regular flu... The UK and Sweden even chose to react late, to have a few victims on purpose, so that the population will understand how serious it is... Isn't that the record of cynicism?

So your observation is spot on. He should have saved everybody...

Then he’d be fired for dreaming but wouldn’t get any gifts. The ship wouldn’t leave without passengers so he wouldn’t be proven right. He’d need to be a real martyr to do that.
So true with Corona. As much as we heard about it in January and February we didn’t believe it till we saw it. It was one big joke. I remember when anything Corona related was just a funny meme with a masked Chinese.

Ok, new riddle:

You have a pond, it has a surface of 1024 m2. In the pond there is an algae which grows in such a way that it doubles the watersurface it covers every day.

On day 30, the whole surface of the pond is covered.

When was half of the pond covered?

Bonus question: how big was the algae on day 1?

The pond was half covered a day before it was fully covered.

Answer to bonus question:
Hidden:

On day 20 it was 1 m. So I would do .5 to the 18th power to get the size it was on day 1.

Maybe I'm just slow today, but I'm not getting it (even after seeing the hidden answer). Can you please explain?
