I joined this game when it was well on its way. Perhaps I'm not aware of the rules. I've seen other posters taking part of the last word to form a new word, so I thought that was included as permitted in the rules.
What ARE the rules of this game?
I'd appreciate if someone can kindly enlighten me.

I didn't catch at first - I thought you are starting a new games/new rules midway through the game.
