First of all remove the center comb in your shaitel, put in 2 side combs instead. The center ones tend to pull more then the two sides. Ot will also give the middle of your head time to recover and the hair will grow back.
Second, get a pkg of goody flat clips, pull your into a 1/2 pony and fasten the clip then put your shaitel on, bring it to the bridge of your nose, and slowly pull it back into the proper place.
This sounds silly, but it makes a huge difference, when you pull your hair back in just a pony the clip is gripping loose hairs, it has to fight to stay where it was put, and, therefore it pulls out your hair. When you have it pulled back in a 1/2 pony, the short hairs in front don't come loose and the clips slide easily into the hair, causing less friction.

OP again. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Mommy3.5, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're suggesting.
Make a 1/2 pony, clip it with flat clips, then what do you do with the rest of the hair?
and about bringing the sheitel to the bridge of my nose - you mean before I clip it in?

This sounds like a good idea. my sheitel drives me crazy and my fall is only marginally better. presumably you then take the bottom half of your hair and put it into a pony as usual?
if anyone could see how crazy my hair looks under my fall.....small parting at the front, braid in the middle to shove th comb into, now I'll have two ponies going on as well.....and sometimes its all covered by a lovelyy brown stiocking thing which makes me look like the top of my head is off to rob a bank....! It makes DH laugh, at least.....

I have the same problem. I told my dermatologist and he told me to use Rogaine for men. It's helped tremendously, but it's something you will always have to do. The comb thinned out the top of my hair and the clips thinned out the sides. It's awful. The Rogaine though really does help. I try to wear my sheitel only when necessary - otherwise it's a hat and I never cover in my home. That's just the level that I'm at. The wig caps you can get at Rite Aid also. It's very comfortable and I use it. I also take biotin 1000 mg for my hair.
How do I contact Sheina wigs for the band inside the sheitel? That sounds like a great idea.

you do know that rogaine is not to be used for those that are in their childbearing years, right?

Actually I didn't know that. My dermatologist told me that it was o.k. to use Rogain, but it's not the first time a doctor told me that something was o.k and it really wasn't. I did use it until I wanted to get pregnant and then I stopped when I was pregnant and nursing and now I just never continued. But, that's good to know. What do you mean child bearing years? Do you mean when I am pregnant or just in general? Can it affect fertility?

Braid it or make a pony with the rest of the hair. yes bring the shaitel to the bridge of your nose and slowly glide it into your hair. It reduces friction and pulling.
