I didn't have a shabbes kalla. I never heard of it before Imamother, and no one proposed me to do one.
My husband had an aufruf in the Italian shul, but nothing planned in advance, no fancy stuff, etc.

I had a large colourful arrangement of real flowers (not to my taste at all! but its the thought that counts) and a bouquet of real flowers at the wedding, the arrangements were all fake ones from a gemach.
can't remember shabbos kalla, probably had for that also.
I like flowers growing in the garden, rather thhen a vase, and most weeks we have guests who bring us flowers, so I told my dh not to get me any for shabbos.
I'd probably rather no flowers then fake flowers though.

And for wedding I got artificial because he sister and mother decided that it wasnt worth spending a lot of money on so they got it from Walmart.
P.S. They also decided that its stupid and a waste of money to get flowers for engagement, so I didnt get.
I actually have never got any flowers for Shabbos or anything like that, because they dont let him spend money on me like that. |
The things I take for granted...

For my lechaim there was some flower arrangement, presumably from the chosson but as far as I know, from his mother I was flying out the next morning, none of us lived in NY, so I have no clue why the needed them. I did take 4 of the roses out and tied them to my carry-on and dried them when I got home. They didn't survive the move...
Wedding- a family friend made my bouquet with flowers from her flower fields (a proffesional flower arranger), otherwise I would have skipped the bouquet all together. I don't know what the centerpieces were, but on the head table there were 5 or 6 individual red somethings. I was too busy to notice.
shabbos kalla? maybe I would have gotten something if I'd had a normal one. Flowers are nice, but not super important in my eyes.

Real flowers for vort and roses before wedding. Then I got a nice centerpiece for dining room table with a welcome to our family poem.

Dh reminded me he offered me for the engagement a big white bouquet like the first one he offered me for the first date. He told me the "big, white" side was a marriage hint but on the first date I didn't get it.

Later was the Tenoyim, I got a very nice bouquet from his parents.
At my wedding there were no flowers but the ones I held and two stands behind me by the kabalas panim. (we got married in EY)

it depends on which wedding you were at for me as to what the flowers looked like.. my first wedding to my husband was with real flowers....the second was without flowers at all. I already had my big wedding.

my MIL is really into gardening so I don't think fake even was an option. DH got the green thumb from his mom so I got a beautiful arrangement of 6 doz long stem red roses for the l'chaim, and for our wedding I got to pick them out. (I keep joking with my DH that he should give flower picking classes to Chassonim to teach them how to get nice inexpensive flowers for their wives!)

I got real for my lechiam. which I actually didnt like the arrangement at all, though I dried some of it and its in a shadow box on my wall as a nice deco.
I got real for the wedding which were gorgous. my mil actually chose them and did a wonderful job at it. she brought me down and told me that she had been there at a earlier time and chose out a whole arrangement. asked me if I would like anything different. I actually loved them and couldnt think of anything that would be dif/better.
real for the shabbos kallah too. though it was at a friends house and by the time we got around to picking them up they were dead so I couldnt save those.

I got real for both. I had my lechaim in NY and DH bought me these huge gorgeous arrangements. My wedding was in March and in Michigan. It's rather gloomy there that time of year so I wanted lots of colors. We had beautiful colorful arrangements that brightened things up. My bouquet was real which I sort of regret because it was extremely heavy.

I got real.
I really don't know much about flowers, before my wedding
I was nervous that my mil chose something ugly, so went to the store to check out!
They ended up making beautiful arrangements!!!!!!

I got a huge, arrangement of real flowers for my L'Chaim/Vort. It was gorgeous and I'm sure it cost a fortune. While I really appreciated it (I love flowers) I think it's a waste of money.
I had a real bouquet at my wedding but chose fake flowers for the kabbalas panim and real for the center pieces. I could have had everything real, but thought it was a big waste.

I don't remember getting flowers for either. Unless you're referring to the bouquet I carried at the wedding.
