Personally, I think this story is a valuable PSA about the dangers of reading books. I mean, it starts with Civil War history, but before you know it you're reading Harry Potter and The Hobbit too. I mean, what's next, The Silmarillion?

Lol!!!

Love this serial! It raises so many important conversations about parenting the marrieds, Shana rishona struggles and empty nest syndrome.

This is the second Mishpacha story I read recently that has a character scoff at the idea of eating roast chicken and potatoes on Shabbos. Can someone explain it to me? Are today's youth opposed to chicken and potatoes?

I agree, although I do find Estis mom over the top. Is it really typical to interfere to this extent?!

It's definitely not as common anymore. I feel like chicken on the bone and potatoes is when I need to make something easy but meaty for shabbos. If I'm actually trying it's a proper Brisket, steak, etc.

This serial was made for a reason, it's unfortunately very realistic for a lot of young couples nowadays..

Yonah is not innocent either.

Agree, but the editing is horrible. At least online, where I'm reading it as I live way oot and Mishpacha isn't sold here. Is it Wagshall, Wagshal, or Wagschal? - all 3 spellings are used. "Companiable" instead of companionable. And other things that I can't think of this second. I hope it's better in the printed magazine!
