Have you tried sitting in the back with the kids and talking/playing with the 15 month old?

I’m planning on trying it on my way back. Not super excited about it because it’s a small car and I’ll be between 2 car seats and I’m pretty overweight but I guess we gotta do what we gotta do

It really depends on the baby and child. Most of my children were perfectly fine on a long trip. I drove from New York to Florida when my third child was 3 days post bris. (Delayed bris) It was cleared by the pediatrician and the mohel. It was really not a hard trip.
On the other hand, my two youngest children now can really be a handful. My baby is 7 months old and we were away until last night and he cried every single time. We wanted to the car and nothing we would do it calm him down...to the point he lost his voice and can barely cry now. He was impossible in the car but perfectly fine out of it.
