We had too many reasons to learn that we must tip before it’s too late (prejudice with untipped rebbes). So we borrow if we don’t have or we go with less on Chanukah, as long as we give the tip we feel like we did our investment. When your kid is at risk at 17, Chas V’Sholom, you would beg Hashem to help you with just $100. If we can give it up front when they’re young, we can hopefully save yourself agmas nefesh. Maybe it’s crazy to think this way but so far so good B’H.
