Hmm, vinegar could be interesting. I never would have thought. As for hanging towels after the shower, you don't think hanging on a hook is enough?

what you're trying to achieve is rapid drying. Bunched up on hooks, parts will remain damp for a long time, which allows the odor-causing organisms to grow. (This happens to us when we do too much laundry at once and hang it up too close together.)

my mom always put the vinegar right in with the washing powder/liquid.
For us it's a matter of making sure that when they come out of the dryer the first time that they're completely dry before they get folded, and then keeping the fan on in the bathroom after a shower to make sure that as much moisture as possible is out . . .
