this is the second time for you?
Some say it is milder the second time, I hope this will be true in your case and wish you refuah shlema from all my heart. |
I don't know when I developed antibodies. I was super careful. Wasn't sick only maybe had mild stuff here & there throughout winter like a sore throat etc.
Now I am very sick. In bed all day.

Do you think it's still time to start chinese now? |
Chinese is important today. Who would think years ago it would be useful.
My mom know few languages not by studying just by picking it up.

Try to find an oxymeter (that's a little thing you put on your finger) and monitor your oxygen saturation. That's important, so that you will notice in time in case oxygen levels go down...
And they say it's better for the lungs to be upright than flat... and it would be good to get fresh air... and even walk around a little bit if you can at all...
How is your family coping? Are they helping out and doing what needs to be done?

My kids are all home quarantining but I had no energy to tend to them. Hopefully today will be a better day

I know English, Hebrew, a few latin languages and a few germanic ones... in different degrees of fluency or perfection
The latin and germanic languages are rather easy to pick up once you know one of them...

Not born in USA. She came to America as an adult & picked up English even if she never learned it. She was in Israel for a year as a adult & can speak Hebrew etc. Her native language plus home language & similar lang. Don't want to give her origins, because I dont want to out myself.

My husband ordered supper but was surprised at the bill for takeout for a family.
Maybe now they'll realize that the freezer doesn't fill up on own.
As far as thinking ahead, whatever we managed to put into freezer beforehand, will come to good use on yom tov & whatever not, too bad for now.

No. European, but I learned Ivrit pretty well... I was a lot around Israelis, and they are so forthcoming when you want to learn a language. You can interrupt them at any time when you don't understand a word, they help you so much... they make it really easy for you... Now I listen to all kinds of lectures or also newscasts in Ivrit, it's all so accessible now... It wasn't in the past...

That's the thing... they really get all you do just once they have to do it by themselves... then they see how much they miss it...
Should be the other way round. They should appreciate it daily...
Is your husband a good cook? Can he handle the kitchen in case of need? Does he know what is where?

When you don't know Hebrew, and hear it around, it sounds like mumble jumble because they speak so fast.

Depends. He knows his way around in this house but rather prefers being served good food when he is hungry.

Yes, some Israelis speak really fast. Sometimes I have a hard time when they speak among themselves or with lectures... good thing with lectures is that you can just stop and repeat... or listen several times... and then you understand more and more...
I suppose it is not easy either to transpose from ivrit to the chassidish pronounciation you are used too, this must be a hard adaptation too... to me, it does not make that much of a difference, I am used to several pronouciations, but chassidic (hungarian) is really quite different...
First time I heard a playing child say the beginning of havadala in chassidish (hungarian) pronouciation, I could not even identify the words... I thought she was completely off... took me some time to understand it was exactly the way it should be in her pronounciation... It's very different from sefardi/israeli

Refuah sheleima Dankbar!!
I’m so sorry to hear how miserable you feel. You’ve got the whole package a second time? Same symptoms or milder? Who’s gonna fill your freezer? I’d love to send you stuff! Do you have help?

What other magazines do you read? |
Sometimes I read Ami, but I prefer Mishpacha because of the layout... and I read the general press...
Do you prefer to read books or magazines?
