I have a cousin Hallel, I'm pretty sure it's used as a girls name in Israel

It's both. DD had a girl and a boy both named Hallel in her gan as well as a Hillel.
We know at least 6 boy Hallels and a dozen girls.

Yes. I know someone with that name. No ideas as to what the meaning is . She has it paired with a common name and only goes by the common one.

Is her second name Rus?

Side note- but why does no one name after the Neviah, Chuldah? All the other Nevios' names are so commonly used besides for hers! Was always curious about this...

Probably it’s שלמן - it’s mentioned in Tanach, I want to say in relation to מלכות בית דוד but not 100% sure.

I was in school with a girl named priva. Never heard it since.
Also met a Pirchi which I think is Pircha. In English it would translate to Flora.
I think they're both beautiful.
When I taught in a school with some Israeli families, there was a Bat Chen and a Moriah which were unusual to me but also very pretty.

One of my daughters names is here. I don't find it an offensive thread. It says "most uncommon" not "most unfortunate". I knew it was an uncommon name when I gave it.

Anyway, some of the names mentioned here, Moriya for example, are super common in Israel.

I'm literally considering Haleli Tzion for my next girl. It's so beautiful. We'd usually call her Haleli, which is definitely a heard-of name in DL Israeli circles.

Another super beautiful name I heard is Shir Hodaya "song of thanks". Shir and Hodaya are both common, separately.

Two names here are similar to my kids.

Son itiel, daughter shai-el

Another uncommon one my other kid has is aviella.

I love that their names are unique.

I’m surprised that some of the names here are names though. But I wonder if people who gave their kids those names look at my kids names and think the same.

My daughters friends middle name is lem lem
