Personally, I wouldn't call it a wing, I'd call it a combination. I agree that wings are adjacent. I think the term is sometimes misused on this site.

We have all the numbers in ourselves.
Your core will be the strongest
The rest of the 9 components are all there. Some stronger than others.
I am a 4/5 with a very strong 8 component. I know it sounds like an oxymoron to be a 4/8 but it was something that I struggled with for years.
How can someone be so sensitive and assertive at the same time?
I didn't make sense to myself at all.
Years ago I found a website that does a tritype giving you your 3 main types.
Thats when I finally began to understand myself.
I'll post the link when I find it.

Many 4s and 6s have a diagnosis of BPD but in reality they simply have many intense and overactive parts to themselves.
IFS can be helpful in seeing your BPD from a different angle and healing that part/parts of you.
