Wrong. But why 13? Most people say 12.

Are you going to tell us the answer? I’m starting to feel dizzy imagining trains zooming back and forth! I guess it has epes a catch.. is the answer 11?

You have 10 sacks of coins. They all look the same but only one bag contains real coins which weigh 2 oz vs fake weigh 1 oz. You can use a bathroom scale just once!

Couldn't control myself from posting one more:

A train from NY to Atlanta takes 12 hours. Trains leave NY bound for Atlanta and also leave Atlanta bound for NY - every hour on the hour. If a person gets onto the noon train in NY heading towards Atlanta, in the 12 hours that he will be sitting on the train until his midnight arrival, how many NY-bound trains will he pass?

Hidden:

Probably about 24.
If train A would be standing in one place, then 12 trains would pass him. Since he is riding, will pass a train every half hour.

Hidden:

Put 1 of bag #1 2 of bag #2 etc. according to the weight you can figure out which bag is the real one.

I already posted the answer in a spoiler, the next post right after the question.

Here it is again:

Using the number 9 four times, can you make an equation so it should =100? You may use any mathematical signs.

Two bikers leave from 2 points that are separated by 60 miles. They are traveling towards each other at 10mph. There is a fly that flies at 30mph that leaves from the same place at the same time as one of the bikers. When it reaches the other bike, it turns around and flies back towards the first bike, and when it reaches the first bike, it turns around again and heads back to the second bike, and so on back and forth - until the two bikes meet. How many miles did the fly fly in total?

99 + .99 with a bar on top

(Y'gotta know that mathematically .99 with a bar = 1)

ETA: Alternatively you can do 99 + 9/9 which is also 1

Do they all contain the same number of coins?Or is that irrelevant? Or do they all have the same weight? Or is the weight arbitrary, since they don't contain the same number of coins?

Ok cool. The logical part adds up but my foggy brain still has this visionary blockage- how could there be 24 trains passing in a span of 12 hours if there is only one train leaving per hour from station?

Because in the first 6 hours of travel, the train is passing the trains on the opposite track that left 12 hours before its own departure. As it travels towards its destination, it will pass a train every half-hour.

Second answer is correct. You’re right about the first but we’re looking for 💯 perfection Very Happy

When he starts out at 12, he is meeting the train that started out 12 hours before.

Is this a local riddle?

Like Bus A will get you from Tram 89 to train 720?

Are you imagining sealed bags? The bags can be opened, that should answer all your q’s

The fly will fly for 3h at 30mph, so he will fly 90 miles....
But don't ask me how often it will turn...
