Personally, I'd go with nude tights.

As a teen (living in Europe) I would ONLY wear stockings, often nudes, during winter. But it probably depends on location.

For a formal event, I'd do nude, but for day to day life, I'd go with opaque tights in the winter..

This is just my humble opinion, but why worry about wearing nude stockings in the winter if you're wearing an open toe shoe?
I don't know what's in because I wear what I like.

What are the shoes made out of? Send a link? And what about the dress?
You can definitely get away with black shoes, black tights, black dress. It just has to look right. If you're not sure, nude is fine. Even in the winter.

How about ivory colored opaque tights? I've seen them around a lot lately. Very cute.

I'd wear nude stockings.
but if the dress is a bit funky, and you are and it's not a black tie event,
you could go with colored tights.
NOT IVORY!!! that's very little girl, and not dressy.
but in my community it's totallly normal to wear fun open toes and stockings.

AFAIK, what's trendy is bare legs. Assuming that you don't want to go that route, go with sheer nude hose. I've seen opaque tights paired with dressier clothes in the magazines recently, but the look has to be just right. Opaque never looks good with open toe shoes.

I couldn't agree more. Open toe is in (although probably cold for it now).
