I'd love to try these recipes but I have a problem with the baking. my oven is fleishig so whenever I bake fish I double wrap it. I've tried to bake fish in the oven double wrapped and it either wasn't baked enough or if I left it in for longer, the sauce went all over my oven.
any suggestions?
did anyone try any of these recipes (or maybe has something else to suggest) with it double covered?

I bake it too but place in muffin containers and for some reason goes faster then just baking in a tray I do the same for my kugel the kids just inhale it and it's gone whereas b/4 it was only the adults and older boys who would eat it. Now it's the ganza megilla and some . Yep it's all about presentation when dealing w/h kids

I fry onions w/ little oil, pour tomato sauce over fish, add onions and spices. bake for around an hour and a half. everyone who's had it loves it.

youngmom, my husband and I had an arguement. he said I could bake fish and meat in the oven at the same time. I said no u cant. I called the rav- and my dh was right. so as for double wrapping fish, are u sure its necessary? ask your rav.
if he says u do have to double wrap, then put it on a cookie sheet or in a 9x13 pan that will catch any overflow. also, when double wrapping to bake, always add to the baking time.

shanie, we did ask a rav. I don't think it's halacha but it's definitely a good idea to do. I'll actually ask my husband about it again.
I don't cook any fish in the oven w/o double covering.
then put it on a cookie sheet or in a 9x13 pan that will catch any overflow.
that's a gr8 idea. thanx, I'll try it.

I typed it for a PM someone sent me and I will cut 'n paste it here -
1 loaf gefilte fish, defrosted
1 egg
1 tsp sugar
salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder to taste
Mix all together
3 carrots, cooked & mashed
300 grams chopped spinach, defrosted
Put half of the white mixture into a loaf pan. Divide the remaining part in half. One half mix w/ the carrots, the other with the spinach.
Spread the green mixture on top and then the orange one. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour.
Enjoy!

put fish loaf in pan. sprinkle with pepper and garlic powder. drizzle small amount of lemon juice. add marinara, just to cover the top of the loaf. bake for 1 and 1/2 hour, covered.
let cool after puffs up.
make sure to bake it till it's sort of brown on the bottom (crispy! yum)

A great easy recipe I do is; take off paper and place on sprayed pan, brush oil, sprinkle with sugar and cover well with ground pepper. It won't be spicy... it's delicious!

slice the loaf into about 10 slices. fry them till golden on both sides. remove from pan. Fry one medium onion in the pan, add 1 small can of hunts tomato sauce, 1/4 cup sugar. boil the sauce, add the fish slices and cook till heated through. Serve cold.

Try marinara sauce with veggies and for a kick some salsa. Bake for an hour to 1.5 hours.
If you feel like a touch more work I have a recipe for a 3 layer gefilte fish using frozen spinach and carrots.

I think we did have a thread on this. I poste this:
Peel off the paper (running hot water on it fo a few seconds helps), put water in the pan, only 1/4 inch or so, pour onion soup mix, paprika on top & bake covered for 1.5 hours.
My brother puts mayon & bread crums on top & bakes it.
