I LOVE pencil skirts I would definitely try it on, make sure if fits right but I'm sure it'll look great

It depends: for winter, get a heavier wool that is a more structured fit. I spend good money on my pencil skirts, as they are the staple of my closet. I like them just below knee length and perfectly fitted. Tight is tacky, loose is- as you put it- nebby. Pencil skirts, when worn right can be very sharp.
