Im so stressed out! We owe so much money and I dont see a way out.
This is currently what we owe
Three months rent
December tuition
Credit card bill about 4k
Health bill about 2k
The credit card is for a necessary big expense that we had recently. Generally we spend only on necessities on the cc such as car insurance, phone and internet, diapers, tissues, wipes, garbage bags and paper goods.
Im extremely frugal so besides for that big expense we dont spend much on cc.
Food is covered with food stamps so thats not an issue.
The problem is we are not making close to enough money and I feel so stuck. Im not working because im going through an extremely tough medical condition and if I go to work ill fall apart. I have been looking for work I can do remotely but nothing has worked out.
My husband has issues and most months doesnt bring in close to enough money. He refuses therapy.
Until now weve made it work by me working and savings but we used up savings.
The credit card bill im not in such a rush to pay, im fine the minimum payment until I feel well enough to work again. But the rent and tuition I need to pay (cant get more of a discount)
The health bill I also would like to oay towards.
But how? I would even borrow money so I could pay even though its not suggested because im so embarrassed but I don't know how.
Im hoping to pay some of it with our tax refund but thats in another few months anyway
Both our parents are not able to help.
Please dont bash my husband, I know his issues and I dont need our sholom bayis to get worse.
Anyone have a job idea for me to do from home (I cant babysit) or a gemach of some sort we can get the money to pay our debts?

Where are you located? Many organizations are location specific. Also, the Rov of your shul is a good place to start.

Forget the health bill for now. Rent and tuition are most important then credit cards, health bill take off the table for a while. Do you have government programs to help pay rent where are you? Also can you go on disability?

What about section 8
Food stamps
Govt services there are so many

Please ask a social services place what you can qualify for to get the rent and food

The medical bills under a certain income might be forgiven ignore those now

There are programs such as heap for heat and electricity and internet and phone. Should I send you the information or links to those programs?
There’s also food packages in specific communities, like hirsch or pollak. It’s discreet and comes in boxes that mimic grocery deliveries.
For diapers, the cheapest I know about is cash back at target when spend a certain amount. Like spend 100 get back 30.
Can the health care bill be discounted. I’ve heard of medical bills being discounted after some back and forth.

Hoping that some of it is useful to you.

Our rent is not legal so cant get section 8 or heap. Cant move now because that will break our lease and it costs money besides wont find cheaper.
Tuition isn't willing to go lower
Diapers I get from walmart, I think thats the cheapest.
Phone and internet is extremely cheap already get a discount
Health bill can wait but I feel guilty not paying it. Its not a regular bill its for something insurance doesnt cover. Dont want to get specific

Even if you guilty it’s just not as important as keeping a roof over your head and your kids in school.

Nothing happens if I break the lease but its not right and it wont help anything.
Im definitely prioritizing rent and tuition.
I would love to pay the health bill but thats not my priority. I wish I can pay towards it but right now I have -400 in one account and 200 in the other. I am being more on top of finances to make sure this doesnt happen hopefully. I realized one of my husband issues is he has zero concept of money, should have realized earlier.
I wish I can find a job because I feel useless. But if I go out to work I will probably end up neglecting everything else and taking off twice a week.

It's close to shabbos but if you are home you should tap into all your strengths.

Many times the rav of the shul helps families just like you. They could only help if you describe how you are living and want some help.
